updates..

havent been updating my blog for a while..

ok..just a summary of what i've been up to for the past 2 weeks..will put more pics on sc's birthday and paris trip when i've more time/not so lazy..

Basically..after the biopharm 5 test, we celebrated sue choo's birthday for 2 consecutive days..

the 15 of us went to tiger-tiger for a nice dinner..lol..a whole bunch of girls without a single guy..(we're pharmacy students mar..what to do?:P)

2 days after that...

we went to paris..in short, its definitely memorable!!the trip was fun..AMAZING scenery, NICE food and GREAT travel gang..i rili couldnt ask for more..aiyoh..must MUST go back to paris someday..(probably when im old & earn enough $$)

Eiffel Tower!!i've seen it in sooo many pics, listen about it all the time..and when i saw it for real..its just..AMAZING...hard to describe the feeling but it really put me in awe..

Paris Disneyland..i must say im not someone who fantasize bout fairy tales and all..and din have high expectations about it..but being there was a special experience..living in a fairy tale perhaps,where everything was so pretty and perfect..with the disney songs repeatedly being played..and nw the song "just like we've dreamed it" had been implanted in my brain..still feel happy whenever i listen to this song..

my travel mates..had so much laughter and fun with u ppl..lol..semangat gila when it came to traveling..we spent FULL days walking around paris..without realising, we covered most of the places of interest even though we were walking at a rather relaxing pace..and treat ourselves with LOTS of good food..

THEN..

coming back to glasgow..i'd to come back to reality as well and prepared for my oral presentation..before the presentation, i tried to practise at home..and i din have the stamina to complete the whole thing cos it was TOO LONG, have to stop and drink water and skip some part summore..lol..

but when it came to the real thing..terpaksa do the non-stop toking for half an hour..and kena bombarded with questions..hmmph..thank god its over nw..

Oh yeah..

the night before my presentation, we joined a cny celebration thing held in our uni..(yup its after chap goh mei)

The food was sponsored by the few famous chinese restaurants in glasgow..bt sadly..we were slightly late..and we managed to try a bit oni as most of the food was gone by the time we arrived..

There was also a very special lion dance performance..

its special cos it was the first time that i saw a lion fighting with a fake snake (which i tot was a rope initially)..we were asking each other but couldnt figure why..

The geng part was when the lion lifted the bottle with both the chinese character (酒) and english "WINE" labelled on it..and started drinking..tok about adapting the famous scottish culture of drinking..haha...and it got drunk and started performing醉拳 ..

the most entertaining performance was the chinese martial arts done by the chinese kids..they were simply adorable!!though some of their steps werent really uniform..but they were clearly smiling away and enjoying themselves on stage..

and apparently liping and i had crush on the same kid...

was laughing when i saw this pic taken from liping's blog..awwww...he's rili cute...

anyway..im leaving to dundee for the weekend..and my essay deadline is this coming friday..seems like i'll be doing last minute work again after this..til then..take care ppl!

OMG...pls pls..just let me remember all the drugs + chemical structure +history +uses +features +...for a day...

cny day 1

yesterday afternoon we visited shirlyn's house..

omg...their house is soooo well-decorated!!! with angpao..oranges..tanglung..

and most importantly...

they've very delicious home-made cookies from malaysia..wowwwwww...and i finally had BA GUA ...ooooo.....so niceeee.....thanks a lot ya..:))

rili meriah..bt too bad had to rush for classes after that..lol..

at nite..our batch had our own class gathering..some of the home students and a few lecturers oso attended..

everyone had fun..and the food prepared by our batchmates were delicious as well..:))) a good way to spend our cny..at least we were nt that homesick since everyone was gathered together..

took so many pics until i've no ideas where to collect the pics from after this..haha..

BUT TODAY..

i noticed that...

there really is 99% resemblance between the 2 of them...

HAPPY CNY!!

Had an awesome pre-cny celebration starting from 8pm to 1 sumthing am yesterday..

we started preparing food after we came back from class at 5pm..
Below are the food prepared to fit 8 slim girls' stomach..

its been a long long time since we've had seafood..:)))

had 2 different flavour..chicken soup and tomyam..*2 thumbs up*

luckily there were keropok..spring rolls..longan..for us to eat while waiting for the food to be cooked..

OMG..the food was soooo delicious..

and we ate and ate and ATE..while blasting our apartment with the latest chinese new year songs..

at some point..we were too full and had to rest..

so..to kill time..we chatted..played around...sang songs..did some simple aerobics so that we could go for 2nd round,3rd round etc..

of course..we managed to snap some pics again..

whereas yishan claimed that her facial muscle was too stiff and had to spend a long time stretching and pulling her face before taking the above pic..until sc had to voluntarily help to stretch yishan's face...LOL!!!

last nite was really memorable with the crazy bunch around..

pre-cny..

i'd told myself that i WONT blog about cny..

cos the syndrome of homesickness is contagious and will infect everyone else in an instance..

and im nw contradicting myself once again.. !@#@#$$

WARNING:

those who are homesick nw..stop here and ignore the rest of the post..

when i first set up my blog..i'd decided onli to write about happy things that happened..and let the unhappy moments passed by in silence..

bt i guess its kinda impossible..

its hard to remain cheerful all the time..

and for the past few days my mood had been fluctuating..

when i received a new year card & angpao from s.kwan..

i was very excited and touched as she'd been really thoughtful..

seriously..i've never been so happy to see cny card

and yet at the same time..

i felt a pang of emptiness..

chose to ignore that and i'd been okay for the next few days..

THEN..

the 1st instance that i viewed the cny song by the astro + MY fm djs from youtube..

the moment when i tok to bro who is nw in kch..

and when i chatted with dad and mum who're busy buying things for cny..

it hit me that chinese new year is REALLY near..

for the 1st time in my life

i couldnt fly back to kch and celebrate cny with my family and old frens bek in kch..

at THOSE particular moments..

i felt all the homesickness that i'd bottled up bt chose to ignore..

one part of me was thinking of hw to ban all the videos/songs/red things/etc etc that can remind me of cny from getting into my sight..

(and yet..i've been listening to the cny songs over and over again..:P)

another part of me kept telling myself that celebrating cny at oversas isnt too bad..
this will be my 1st and last time NOT celebrating cny at home..so wats the big deal?

summore i have so many crazy frens around to celebrate with me..

and i've no right to indulge myself in self-pity compared to my other frens that are sitting for exams rite nw..(good luck arr!!)

haih..must be those depressing journals that made me depressed..

SNOW!!

at 5 sumthing am this morning..

sc banged my door hard..and i continued to sleep..thank goodness she'd been persistent and patient..haha..i think she continuously banged for quite some time and when she finally said "its snowing!!!WAKE UP!!!"..within seconds..i was wide awake and rushed to her room..

omg!!!its really snowing outside..and its obviously snowing for quite some time...

the 4 of us stood near the window to have a closer look..everything was covered with a layer of snow..and it was soooooo soooooo nice!!!
wow...everything was white!!

even the tong-sampah looked so much nicer..

bt we werent crazy enuf to run downstairs..i went straight back to bed and slept like a pig until 9 sumthing..our neighbours told us that they banged our door earlier bt nobody woke up..oops..apparently i really slept soundly until i din hear ANY SOUND at all..(my room was the nearest to the front door..:P)

since the snow was already melting..we had a quick breakfast and went down to snap pics..

something to ponder..

after the normal lecture today, 3 lecturers stepped into the hall and discussed with us about our assignments..

apparently, they've received complaints from the students bout the workload and they were here to listen to our opinions..and once they'd asked us to voice out our opinions..the home students were already raising their hands..

one opinion came after another, with long explanations by the foreign students..and they fully expressed their dissatisfaction with the workload given..

at some point one of the students was bombarding one of the lecturers (who we dun like also,haha!) and when he didnt answer the question directly..he kena bombarded again..wow!!

all the while we, the malaysians were just watching in surprise and shock!! and after the discussions, the lecturers promised to tell us their final decisions next week..which means they'll probably reduced 3 essays into 2..*fingers crossed* (phew..havent started doing any yet..)..

wow..another cultural shock for me..:))...throughout the years of studying..we've oways been obeying watever we were asked to do..even when the assignments/homework thrown at us were a lot..it never even registered to our brains that we could actually voice out our opinions!! the reasons are probably : we feel that we were obliged to be obedient/ the teachers will probably say "thats ur responsibilities as students.."/no changes wil be made even if we do complain..

so at the end of the day..we were all trained to become robots who are hardworking, obeying the instructions of others, never consider that we can actually question them or say "no" if we dun feel like doing it..hmmm.....
